Concrete Sand from Southern Crushed Concrete is a fine aggregate that is used in the production of concrete or mortar. Concrete sand is crushed in a quarry then filtered to ensure no large rock fragments are left behind. When mixed with cement and water, a grout is formed that fills the voids between the coarse aggregate. Though typically used in the creation of cement, concrete sand can also be used as pipe sand or as a leveling medium and base layer for above ground pools, patios or walkways.
At Southern Crushed Concrete, we use materials from prequalified sources provided by the Texas Department of Transportation and our material meets all TxDOT (Texas Department of Transportation), ASTM (American Society of Testing and Materials), County, and City specifications. Any materials from sources not provided by the Texas Department of Transportation are tested and approved before use.
