Southern Crushed Concrete was removing a bridge located at the intersection of SH 290 and 43rd Street. The structure consisted of concrete bridge spans, beams, and columns that were removed over one weekend. This specific bridge on 43rd Street like many along the 290 corridor have been removed in multiple phases in order to keep traffic flowing during construction. Demolition in different phases requires special considerations for structural integrity as well as safety during the work and after.
